Before actually booking a session please contact me by phone or email (843-801-4037 & info@emeraldrosephoto.com) as I have some questions in order to make your session the best possible. There is a contract that needs to be signed and 1/2 the session fee (or the first payment for the Bellies to Bellies program) is needed to secure your appointment

We will discuss location choices, family involved, special requests, package options, any discounts available, outfit and prop choices, ect. I will also answer any questions you may have. If you're not sure about a location or want to meet and share your ideas about a new location that is free of charge and I'd be happy to do it.

After the Session
After the session I will spend anywhere from 5 minutes to one hour (maybe even more depending on number of people and image) per image and since in a typical session there's over 140 images you can see why it takes a while. I try to get your images up in a proofing gallery with 3 days, but it can take up to a week. Will you see EVERY image I take? No. Because sometimes I take doubles and edit out the doubles, or the images where everyone looks like you just told them their birthday wasn't coming this year. I use my artistic judgement and if you see an image in B/W it's because that's my artistic view, It's one of the reasons you chose to work with me. Now when ordering prints online you do have the option of B/W or Sepia.
After your images are in the proofing gallery you and your family have 2 months to view them and order. At the time of your session we will schedule a time to view them either at your home using your internet, a public meeting place, or over the phone.
Preferably I would like to come into your home and help you. Not tell you what to get, but give you ideas on how best to display your family art, whether is be a small collection of 5x7s or 3 16x20's. It all depends on your preferences and your house. This is not required, but highly encouraged. This is to help you, many times people order prints and they end up sitting in an envelope, I'm here to help you get them up and out.
After this meeting I will order your prints and offer any other services, for example If you're ordering 8x10s or bigger I can offer matte cutting services, especially for those digital sized prints so you don't have to crop images. I cost a LOT less to cut a matte than your local craft/frame store (I priced one of my print matte sizes at $39 for a 16x20 matte!!!). I will even go with you to help you pick out frames and will frame them myself if you so choose. Getting your portraits up for you to enjoy is my main concern.
This is also why I don't just offer you a CD for you to print your images yourself. When you show your family portraits, you show my professional quality and so I need to control that quality. If I just gave you a CD it's be like a doctor giving you a needle and telling you to give you your own shot or a florist who gave you a bunch of flowers and told you to make your own bouquets. Could you do it? Probably. Would you have the same results as if a professional had handled it, most probably not. To read more about this go to or watch .

FAQs

Can I choose the normal family pricing instead?
Yes. The Blankies to Backpacks Program is just an option. I've worked with kids for over 10 years and I just understand how they can be... one minute fine and the next there is no hope of getting them to smile. Hence the reason for this program. I'm pretty sure no one around has this program right now and I pride myself in trying to help give you the best possible session. Is it a necessity? Is it the only way you'll get great images? No, but you know your kids best.
Do I have to make a decision when I book a session?
Yes and No. Yes you do have to either book a standard Family Portrait session or a Blankies to Backpacks session. However, no you don't have to decide if you'll need the one or 2 days prior to your session, we can play it by ear. Who knows your child may surprise you and be able to do 6 hours of photography. But it's available just in case.
What should we bring?
You should bring about 2 outfits (one you wear and one to change into later) for your session. If you have an infant or toddler who tends to spill food and drink on themselves then don't put their portrait clothes on till they get there. Also bring favorite blankets or toys, if you play a sport with your kids then bring some of that so we can capture it. Really anything that shows your kids and your families personalities or toys they always play with as these are the memories you want to capture. I could bring a football, but if you're child has never even touched a football, what significance would it have for your family and the memories you'll display for years to come.

Bellies to Bellies Program
I believe it's important to capture the prescious memories of each one of your children's first year. As a new mom, whether this is your first of fifth, you don't have time to think about making sure to get beautiful images taken of your family and baby. Your baby will grow and change each month and if you don't capture these changes on a regular basis you will surely miss out.You know they're important, you want to make sure your child can have these images when they graduate HS and College and then when they get married and have kids of their own. You don't want them to not have these memories to share.Let me take care of capturing these moments for you. I will call you one month before each session is to take place to schedule the actual day and time.
The Options
The Emerald Rose- $2000 (or 9 payments of $230)+ tax
