So here it is! The last segment of the amazing vendors that helped with the April Mock Wedding, but definitely far from the least! Today take a look at some of my favorite people/ vendors ever! I’m really excited to have had the opportunity to share this experience and everyone’s creativity with you all and I really hope you take a look at these vendors for your own weddings or events! If you missed the other 3 posts, here’s part 1, part 2, part 3. So let’s take a look at Sara Theisen Design, Maria Amore from Events With Amore, and of course The Luv Shack! (more…)
Today we’re taking a look at Cristina with DL Limousine Service out of Greer, SC. No we’re not done looking at all the amazing vendors from the mock wedding, but I thought it’d be nice to take a break and come back! Plus I just had to tell you about the amazing time we had with Cristina and her lovely assistant! While I was able to photograph Cristina, all the limos are stored elsewhere and so previously photographed by Shannon Norris.
Today we have 5 amazing vendors to take a quick look at from the mock wedding we did at the Luv Shack on the River! See the amazing talent and service by Liquid Catering, Tyler Chappell- Horse rentals, Sew-Peas LLC, Gold Collections in Simpsonville, and Carolina Traditions of Spartanburg! As with any post, please feel free to pin any of these images/ collages on pinterest as a reminder of vendors to talk to or just for inspiration! (more…)
There are so many vendors to cover so you’ll get these over the next couple of weeks, but if gives you an idea of how many businesses it takes to pull off a successful wedding! Today We’ll be looking at the amazing food of Sweet Catherine’s, the amazing artistry of Cotton Rouge hair and Make-up artistry, and Weddings By Lisa- wedding officiant.
So I know it’s been a while since I’ve updated the blog, but life has been crazy and now that the school year is over and I get to focus all my time on the business, you can expect me to catch up on blog posts! You will see some change in topics and I plan to make it a little more personal and broaden the topics outside of the wedding and photography industries, so look for those changes in the coming weeks.
Today I’m going to introduce quite a few local businesses from an amazing project I help put together about a month ago- a mock wedding at The Luv Shack on the River in Fountain Inn. There are so many great details and images from the shoot that I’m going to have to split it up into at least 2 features, but I can’t wait to share these super fun images with you! (more…)
Today I have the pleasure of presenting the gorgeous Lisa Baker! I’m super excited to present this very special lady to you because we have become such good friends despite actually only meeting a couple times! There are just some people that you just KNOW you were meant to meet. Lisa is actually the sister-in-law of another wonderful wedding officiant and notary; Penny Reynolds with Reynolds Treasures and I can’t believe I’ve been lucky enough to know and have photographed both of these wonderful ladies! While Penny is finishing up her Upstate weddings and slowly moving to Charleston (and rocking the bridal world there already), Lisa is rocking the Upstate with her sweetness and genuine desire to make each bride’s day special!
While we had talked on facebook many times I didn’t actually meet Lisa till her beauty session! Normally that can make me a little nervous because I love to meet people before their session in order learn more about them, their personalities, their unique quirks so that I can really make them shine during their session, but meeting Lisa was like walking into the house of an old friend and I had no problem capturing her beautiful spirit! Lisa also volunteered to help me build experience in a new genre of phtography that I have completely and utterly fallen head over heels in love with… Beauty Sessions! Really it’s the evolved world of glamor photography, but I realize what a horrible wrap Glamor photography has gotten due to the days of Glamor Shots where a 12 year old was made to look 20. These sessions are NOTHING like that!!!
These sessions do include hair and make-up artistry, but it’s all to bring out your natural beauty and to highlight your best assets while fixing what the camera does to you like washing your skin tones out and picking up every little imperfection our skin may have (gotta love the high megapixels we all go ga ga over lol). You get to choose if you want heavy or light make-up, but our default is a very natural look with eye shadow colors that bring out your eye color so that you look VERY natural. It’s you, just a little more refined and PAMPERED you! While I have a lot I could say about these sessions I’ll let the images and Lisa speak for themselves!
Her Before and After- Note all she is wearing is concealer and foundation in her before with no guidance in how to stand or me controling the light, so basically what you would expect a snapshot when you first get up in the morning to be lol. The after is the true LISA! And can I just say I’m loving all that her and her husband are saying about this experience- totally good for my ego lol. Love ya guys! Now down to business! lol

Q. How long have you been in the Upstate area? We have lived here for 7years.
Q. How long have you been a wedding officiant/ notary? How did you become interested in working in the wedding industry? I have done this for close friends and family for a while and just decided in Feb. of this year to start a business. I became interested in this industry because it brings joy to so many couples. I love to see the smiles on their faces and I love to calm their nerves when it is getting close.
Q. What is the most rewarding part of what you do? The most rewarding part is putting together a ceremony that fits each couple and seeing their reaction when they read it.
Q. What unique quality do you possess that sets you apart from others in your industry? I love each couple and what they bring to my life. I listen to what they want and their needs and make sure that they happen.
Q. Finish this sentence: “I wish more brides/couples would…” enjoy their day… a lot of couples get so wrapped up in details that they forget to enjoy it and then before they know it it is over.
Q. What is the best piece of advice you can offer to brides/couples for their wedding day? Have fun because hopefully you will not be doing this again!!!
All the images- beware there is music!

So as March passes along with freaky warm weather we continue to look back on the women who’ve made an impact in our lives. Last week I talked about my mother and the beautiful wonderful woman she is. In fact I sent it to her before posting it for everyone else and yup she totally cried. Generally you don’t want to make your mother cry, but in this case I think it was a good thing in fact this is what she wrote to me- “Oh yea make me cry my eyes out! Thank you honey. I never saw myself that way.” I think I achieved my goal, no? In fact I believe that’s one of my big roles in life, as a daughter, sister, friend, colleague, and of course as a photographer- I want to help people see themselves in a new way, in a way they hadn’t thought about themselves in a while or ever at all, in a way that inspires them to find their dreams and make them a reality! So for today I want to take a brief look at my Grandma Beryl, and while she most likely will never read this I hope she knows I love her!
Today I’m pleased to bring you Sara Theisen from Sara Theisen Design! She is truly an innovator in her field and offers brides and organizations a truly unique experience. I really believe that you will love working with Sara, in fact I love working with her so much that she and I got together and created 5 different templates just for my brides to choose from and customize for your Save the Dates!
Ok so I really wanted the title to read “I went to a bridal show and all I got was this stinkin’ t-shirt!” but that didn’t really make sense lol. I believe that for the most part last weekend officially ended bridal show season for the winter/ spring so now that you’re wedding showed out what do you do with all those flyers, cookies, candies, magnets, and the 5 lbs you gained from all those cake samples?!
That’s right it’s Women’s History Month and so time to sit back and appreciate those that came before us. Typically this month we look at prominent figures in history like Susan B. Anthony, Harriet Tubman, Eleanor Roosevelt, Marie Curie, and so many others. While we should be thankful of these wonderful women, it’s the women in our own history that we really should be appreciating. The number one most important woman in my life has been my mother…
