New navigation and Information pages

So as you’ve probably noticed there is a new look to the navigation of the site. It is now easier for clients to find their proofing gallery, potential clients to see the different portfolios, and for everyone to find the pricing and FAQ pages for the different types of photography I do. There are now print packages to choose from (Yes these still hold a 25% discount for military, teachers, police, firefighters, nurses, adn EMTS) and special options like hair and makeup or a matting service for your prints when ordered. There are also new pages with special programs like Emerald Moms and OpLove as well as a Discount Page to see the current discounts and specials. I hope you enjoy it and if you’d like to see something different let me know. For example, I plan on adding an Anniversary Program to the Special Programs I offer. So keep looking you never know when I might add something new!

Sneak Peak details…

I’m currently redoing my website and I can’t wait to unveil it, hopefully tomorrow, but at the latest this weekend. There are so many cool features new programs. Not only will we have my Senior Rep program, but there’s going to be some incentives for the moms too, hint hint. So look out because that’s not even the half of it.

I Love the 80′s Night

The images from our 80′s night are up and they are hilarious! While the green screen worked for this set of images since it was an 80′s night, from now on a black, white, or gray screen will most likely be used. Also Portrait Parties will have only one background option as the time it takes to change from one to the other takes too long for an event such as this. For reference Deb’s in the mall has great 80′s wear if anyone wants to book their own 80′s night. So here’s a peak at the night’s images.

May I Present the Ray Family!!!

What a wonderful family! I’ve known them for a while and consider them good friends, but haven’t had the opportunity before now to actually work with them. When first discussing what T. wanted for her images we drove to the different locations and discussed the possibilities, so we were able to maximize our time better during the shoot. We took advantage of the Weapon’s Station beautiful Marion Plantation and the diversity of Riverfront Park. Working with their daughter A. was so much fun and quite a hoot, she is a future photographer for sure. She made my job so much fun because she knew exactly where she wanted to go and what poses she wanted. This is also a perfect example of how flexible your shoot is, especially for those with children. She really wanted 3 locations, but wasn’t sure if A. would be able to last for all of it, so we planned for 3 and I only charged for 2, but if she ended up going to three, she would pay the difference after. As it turned out the 2 locations were all A could handle. So here’s a sampling of this wonderful family…

The Shhh It happens Tour came to Columbia!

Well my friend and I went to a concert to hear a few great bands, among them Ca$h, Ca$h. Since I was going and I had so much fun photographing Mary Ford I brought the camera and came up with some awesome shots. I have decided that my style is high contrast BW for my concert photographs. I just love how black and white makes you really focus on the emotion in the photographs. Look below for a sampling and click on an image to go to the full gallery.

Mount Pleasant Waterfront Park War Memorial Dedication

On July 5th I took the advise of a new found friend from the July 4th Celebrations and attended the new park in Mount Pleasant’s War Memorial Dedication. It was a beautiful if not long ceremony with many interesting characters. I took many images, but had to pare them down. I decided to mainly use B/W as it was a more serious and somber ceremony and with the many historical costumes and slight looks I decided B/W was the creative effect I wanted to use. There is one image that I love that I wish I had more light so it didn’t come out so blurred, but I included it anyway as I was just in love. It’s of an older gentleman when he stood up for his branch’s song and his wife or daughter just stared up at him so lovingly with such pride on her face and he was so completely unaware and I just love it. Enjoy and please feel free to leave comments, to see the rest of the images, click on one of the images.

All fourth of July pics up and ready

I am excited to show you all the images I took at Riverfront Park. The images of Mary Ford from the Supremes makes me want to do more concert photography. I chose B/W for these images because I felt it helped evoke the feeling I was going for and goes back to the images from her hayday. The firework images are fun and make me wish I had a tripod, but since the fireworks were my main focus and a tripod would have inhibited with all the portraiture, I’m happy with the outcome. Enjoy! (to see the rest of the images, just click on one of the photographs).

Portraits from July 4th up

All right so not all the images are done being edited (it takes time to get everything just right), but all the portraits I took are done! So thank you to all the families and individuals that let me take your image. If you didn’t give me a usable address please email me one so I can send you a thank you gift. I am thrilled with so many of these images and I can’t wait to get to all the ones of Mary Ford from the Supremes and then on to the next day’s activity of the war memorial.

Fireworks at Riverfront park in North Charleston, SC

I just got back from being at Riverfront park, or the old Navy Base, and what a blast. I shot images of current and past American heroes (what better subject on Independence Day), Mary Ford from the Supremes, beautiful families, and even some fireworks. Yes I know I said I wouldn’t but I figured hey why not give it a try even without a tripod. I have 2.5 GBs of images to go through and I have to match up model releases with the people in them so I can send them a thank you gift, so it may be a day or so before you see the images, but I’m really excited!

I was very nervous at first, just going up to people and asking them to sign a model release and let me take pictures, but I’m glad I did as I met some really amazing people from all over the south. I really loved meeting all these people and exchanging anecdotes.

Web 2.0

I have been apart of the web 2.0 movement for a few years now, but I’m realizing that since I’ve been out of college I’m falling behind on all the different social networking sites available. So as of right now I am now a part of:
