Logos and guarantees.

So I’m in the midst of redesigning my logo and sought professional help. After I got the images from the designer I realized how hard it is to get the love for your work and the goal for how you want your business perceived across to others.

This same problem is true when it comes to your images and your photographer. You need someone who will listen to you and get a feel for who you are and what you want. In addition you need someone who will insure their work. And that’s what I do I will guarantee that you will love your images or I will redo them for free till you do. You, as my client, are what is most important and i strive to match my creativity and vision with yours.

Devin and Taryn- Stall Seniors

So here is a sneak peak of these two beautiful ladies. They are seniors at Stall and were a blast to work with. Please note that I do not usually do a double shoot like this, but I had already promised them I would and to get the new senior pics up and to you all I did. For everyone else please note that your friends are more than welcome at your shoot, and we will even get a few images with them if you like, but the focus will be on you for more unique images.

Lessons learned

So I don’t really know what I was thinking lol, but here are some things i learned from my shoot last night.

1) Wearing white capris is not a good idea if you are going to the beach and will possibly be getting drenched by the water. (and keeping your phone in your pocket is pretty dumb too lol)

2) Go out and buy the dumb bug spray!!! For some reason I keep forgetting this part of photography, especially in the early evening/ night. So I went out and looked all over walmart today and found waterproof bugspray, so for my new clients bug spray will be provided.

3) Not only pay attention to when sunset is, but also when the tides are if you’re doing beach shots.

4) And when it comes to the beach shots make it very clear to the clients what you are really expecting, evidently when you say that they will be getting their clothing wet, I didn’t make myself very clear that I really wanted them IN and Under the water, oh well I still got some really cute shots and maybe my next shoot will let me put them all the way in.

5) The beach shots are best done last. It gives you a chance to get all the other images without the client being all wet and sandy and it offers a good cool down after a hot day of shooting and the model won’t be as worried about getting their hair wet in case it’d ruin it for the rest of the shots.

6) I LOVE LOVE LOVE my off camera flash through an umbrella and while a clamp works, and adapter will work better and give me more options (order being processed now) and I need a good sandbag so I’m not worrying about my poor flash toppling over.

7) A cooler full of ice and water bottles is a great idea and in my opinion a necessity to keeping your clients feeling good and happy, so from now on water will be provided on all outdoor location shoots.

I’m now working on the post editing for last night’s double shoot, so keep a look out in the senior galleries for the full shoot and one eye here for some favs and sneak peeks.

Site is done…

Well the Site is finished, well at least for now lol. I’ll be adding package pricing and a la carte options in the next few days, but the important pieces of information are complete. Best of all… the Senior pages are done and all the information you need to become a Senior Rep for Emerald Rose Photography is there under ER Seniors. Click here for more info and to apply, what a great way to not only get unique, personalized portraits for FREE, but to also earn money and products as well!

Revamping the site

What a process it is getting one’s site exactly as one wants it. First I was having problems with my new Navigation bar so you couldn’t see the text on the boxes until you hovered over them and then you couldn’t get to the drop down menu. But that with the help of some really smart people got fixed. Now I’m trying to get this blog to work properly and I’m having trouble getting my navigation bar to appear on this page when I find out the same navigation bar is TOTALLY screwed up in internet explorer! Gah!!! So please, please be patient as I fix these problems.
